8 HOUR CURL DEFINITION

Curl pattern, type 2 waves through type 4 coils, changes what your hair needs to stay hydrated and defined. Our curl range is built around ingredient matching rather than a single formula for every texture, so a wavy 2C curl and a tightly coiled 4C curl each get what they actually need.

YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED

How do I clean my scalp properly without ruining my natural curl definition?

Focus cleansing on the roots. Gently massage cleanser into the scalp with your fingertips for around 60 seconds, avoid rubbing shampoo down the mid-lengths or ends, and let the rinse water clean the lengths naturally.

Yes, focus on cleansing on the roots. Gently massage cleanser into the scalp with your fingertips for around 60 seconds, avoid rubbing shampoo down the mid-lengths or ends, and let the rinse water clean the lengths naturally.

To combat this without drying your hair out, use our osmolyte-powered Flaky/Itchy Scalp Hydrating Curl Shampoo to deep-clean the root area while safely preserving the lengths.

Avoid towel-rubbing, which disrupts curl pattern. Blot excess water with a microfibre towel or cotton t-shirt, then dry with a diffuser on low heat and low speed, tilting your head forward and resting curls gently into the diffuser bowl.

Summer humidity forces moisture-starved curls to absorb water vapour from the air, swelling the shaft and lifting the cuticle into frizz. Winter indoor heating strips moisture out, leaving hair brittle. A hydrophobic-barrier curl cream helps stabilise texture across both conditions.

Most curly textures do best washed one to three times a week; curly hair is naturally prone to dryness, and daily washing strips the lipids it needs to stay supple. A sulphate-free, targeted cleanser between full washes can refresh the scalp without drying the lengths.
