No referral is needed. You can book a consultation with us directly: online, by phone or by email. Our trichologists are trained to carry out a full independent assessment of your hair and scalp health. If we feel it would be beneficial, we may suggest you visit your GP for additional blood tests or hormone panels, but this is at our recommendation, not a requirement for accessing our service.
In many cases, yes, or significantly slow it. The effectiveness of treatment depends entirely on the underlying cause. Conditions such as telogen effluvium (stress-related shedding), postpartum hair loss and nutritional deficiencies often respond very well to targeted treatment, and significant regrowth is achievable.
For androgenetic (pattern) hair loss, our goal is to slow progression, optimise the scalp environment and, in many cases, encourage meaningful improvements in density with consistent treatment. Our trichologists will always be honest with you about realistic expectations from the outset.
Sudden or significant shedding in women is most commonly caused by a condition called telogen effluvium, a disruption to the normal hair growth cycle triggered by a physical or emotional stressor, such as illness, surgery, significant weight loss, hormonal changes (including postpartum) or a period of intense stress.
Other causes can include nutritional deficiencies (particularly iron, ferritin, vitamin D and protein), thyroid dysfunction, or the beginning stages of female pattern hair loss. This is why an accurate diagnosis is so important, the right treatment depends entirely on identifying the right cause.
In most cases, your personalised treatment plan begins at your consultation appointment. Products can be prescribed the same day, and our team will walk you through exactly how to use them before you leave the clinic. For any treatments that require further investigation, such as blood tests, we'll advise you on the most efficient route forward and follow up as soon as results are available.
