We proudly partnered with renowned celebrity stylist, Graeth Bromell, to create the hair look for English actress Claire Foy for the legendary MET Gala on the first Monday of May.
A study in control, precision and liquid gloss. Bromell referenced the sculptural elegance of Madame X—a silhouette that feels both severe and sensual. He wanted the hair to echo that: architectural, elongated, and almost lacquered, with a tension that frames the neck and elevates posture.
Gareth first began with Philip Kingsley Elasticizer on damp hair to reinforce structure while maintaining flexibility to ensure the hair can be pulled taut without stress or breakage. Then he cleansed with Body Building Shampoo and conditioned lightly with Body Building Conditioner to create movement without weighing things down. I then towel dried and applied Philip Kingsley Maximizer Root Boosting Spray at the roots for subtle lift and control. It was important to work a small amount of Moisture Balancing Leave-In Conditioner through mid-lengths for slip and polish. Next, Gareth blow dried with a flat brush to ensure everything was held back tightly away from the face. Next, he applied Philip Kingsley Finishing Touch Frizz Fighting Gloss in layers, working it through the surface to build that high-shine, almost reflective finish. For the final touch, he used more Finishing Touch Gloss over the surface - just the perfect amount, to ensure everything was in place.
